  • I use this app whenever I swap devices. In order to get your calendar, synced over to the new device, you typically have to use Link and this is “destructive” cause when you restore “settings” you lose all your accounts and have to re-log-in and allow the HUB time to re-sync. It can take two hours to accomplish your device swap in the backup and restore process. If you have one BBID and use BBM groups, the process takes longer for the HUB to be fully synced.

I swap devices regularly. Lately I’ve been going back and forth between my Z30 and Classic. Both devices have the settings how I want and have all the accounts synced, so why would I want to lose all that only to re-sync it in the Link backup/restore process?

I’ve been using Ultimate Backup for my calendar. I don’t add contacts a lot, so when I do, I just keep a log of that and share the contacts to the other device via NFC. Ultimate Backup has become a necessity for me. I really like this app.

I have not used it much for contacts but the only time I did, I had a lot of duplicates. I think there’s a setting that allows you to delete first and then sync over and I guess I didn’t have that set correctly. Also, if you use Remember, it will not capture your tags in the backup/restore process. I made the DEV aware of this, but I’m not sure if that’s been fixed.
