Spotify Launches Service in Israel

Yes, most of you have had Spotify for years, since 2006 to be exact, but for me today is the date to remember as the service launches in Israel. The streaming music giant decided to enter new markets to gain more subscribers. They are currently in less markets than Apple Music, yet have more subscribers than Apple’s streaming service.

Spotify, as you may know, has around 35 Million songs and podcasts in their library, and from now on you can add Israeli songs to that list. The Swedish (yep, they are from Sweden) company released the subscriber options for new users. There is a choice between free with ads or the premium $6 per month without ads.

Now in Israel we have 4 big players in the music streaming game. Spotify joins the aforementioned Apple Music, and the French service Deezer, and Tidal that has less subscribers.

At least in the beginning the service will not offer their Student or family plans in Israek, but it will come soon. Another issue that the company will work on is the languages support. The app is in English, but will become more friendly to Israeli users with some planned local adjustments.

What is your favorite method to stream music from your phone?
