Rogers Releases OS

Great news for BlackBerry users on the Rogers network as Rogers has started rolling out OS, Software Release

I can confirm the update for the Z30 as I personally installed it OTA prior to writing this post; my update was only 17MB and took about 5 minutes from start to finish.

If you’re on the Rogers network and you haven’t received the notification yet, go into Settings > Software Updates and hit that Check for Updates button!

Thanks ital1 I have updated both my Z10 and Q10 and it was approximately 17MB for me as well.

Any idea what the update was for? I have the same update on my phone but am unaware of any differences.

From what I understand the release is mainly bug fixes, and in particular, one to address battery drainage.

    Dang it Telus… last again?

Ha! Not by far! Haven’t seen it from AT&T. As a matter of fact, I don’t remember the last update I saw from them! Thank goodness there are other ways of getting our OS’s updated. I’d still be in the dark ages if we didn’t have those options!

AT&T released a update that predates this one by a few months. I remember I loaded it, then the 3174, I am having brain fade today) came out followed by this one. Like you I am thankful that I am not stuck waiting on my carrier. Thank goodness for BlackBerry Fan sites that have helpful people that teach you how to load a “leak” and give you the tools to do it!

Bell has released it as well. Since we in the USA get stuff later than even Telus, I am using Sachesi to download it. Tomorrow morning will be installation time before I head out to work.

  • Hey ital1. I’m on Verizon, but I found the link our forums and got the OS for my Z30. I still need to get it for my Q10, so that may be my project for this long weekend.
