One of the latest stories doing the rounds on the interwebs involves a ringtone, available for free (and indeed, as the default tone) on BlackBerry 10, which iPhone users are apparently so desperate to have that they are willing to pay for it.
The ringtone in question is named “Spirit”, and has gained its popularity as result of the BlackBerry used by Netflix’s House of Cards character Frank Underwood, portrayed by Kevin Spacey.
However, the real story here is not the popularity of the ringtone, or even the fact that iPhone users want it….
It’s 2015, and people still actually pay for ringtones?
Thinking about it, when you’re wielding technology that’s a couple of years old, why not jump on the nostalgia train and throw on a Typo keyboard, too…?
Or better yet, ditch the iPhone and try an upgrade to BlackBerry 10 and get “Spirit” for nothing… Or, incidentally, any audio file format for a ringtone!
Time to come #BackToBlack!
