Free, no-root screen recorder updated in Google Play
When I first got my PRIV, I spent a while looking for a decent screen recorder app. I wanted something I could use to make some gaming videos, How-To clips and so on.
Unfortunately, my search turned up a large number of apps which required root access in order to function properly. As a Blackdroid user, I know root access isn’t possible, so that immediately discounted all of those apps.
Happily, I managed to find a good quality screen recorder app that didn’t require root access – AZ Screen Recorder.
AZ Screen Recorder works by placing a small icon overlay on the screen of your device. A tap on the icon brings up a mini-menu from which you can start a recording, change the app’s settings, take a still image of your device’s display, or access videos and stills you have already created.
Today, AZ Screen Recorder received an update in Google Play, to version 4.4.4.
The latest version of this app offers the following changes:
- Improvements to the notification controller
- Addition of a video player so you can extract frames easier
- All screenshots and frames now in 1 place
- Improved app stability
- Bug fixes and UI improvement
If you’re looking for a way to record your phone’s screen for whatever reason, I would recommend giving AZ Screen Recorder a try – download it from Google Play here. I haven’t tried AZ Screen Recorder on a BB10 device, so if you have, please let us know in the Comments below!
