OS Rollout: BlackBerry begins to appear

You may have already had the notification in your Hub; but if not, go and check for Software Updates now (Swipe down from the top of your BlackBerry’s screen, tap Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates) – BlackBerry is beginning to roll out as an OTA update (so far confirmed in the UK and Italy).

This new OS offers improvements to the Android Player, a browser security update and a fix for the occasionally-reported double-typing issue, so it’s worth updating as soon as you get the chance.

One proviso: if you are running a version of BB10 prior to 10.3.2, you should be aware that you cannot revert to a pre-10.3.2 version of the OS after updating. This is a result of new security measures implemented by BlackBerry – these include the following :

    • You will now need to enter your BBID password to perform a security wipe
    • To wipe the phone and transfer it to a new BBID, you will need to turn off BlackBerry Protect before initiating a security wipe.

Let us know in the comments if you get the notification – add your country if you don’t mind sharing!

There is a comparison document detailing the differences between BlackBerry 10.2.1/10.3/10.3.1 and 10.3.2 – check out the screenshot below:

Confirmed in Zambia also. I got it OTA on MTN Zambia around 14.00 GMT today. I upgraded from OS on my Z10 STL 100-2. Nothing yet on my Z30 STA100-5 on Airtel Zambia.

Wait…I’ve been using 10.3.2 for a couple of months. locco_smiley_7

Any news about 10.3.4 or 10.4?

Updated to it last night using a blitz and Sachesi. Went smoothly once I found a properly built blitz file. Unfortunately it still hasn’t fixed the one Android app I most wanted to have work correctly again; Audible.

I tried it both on the SE and the ATT passport. On the ATT version it works great, but with a caveat…I had to use a different radio file (841). On the SE, I had to go back to 2339 because of dramatically decreased battery life. I used autoloaders. I can’t help but wonder how much is related to the radio files, because different people in different locations have different results. So at this point I’m still looking at works best for me.
