Jumanji Becomes a Trilogy This Christmas

A new Jumanji movie trailer just released, because there isn’t enough Dwayne Johnson in the world.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle proved to be everything a sequel/not sequel should be. It carried the tone and mysticism of the original 1995 movie staring Robin Williams. It provided a nod to his character, and it updated the theme and the humor for a new generation.

The original, Jumanji, gave viewers an exciting, family-friendly adventure flick that centered around something often viewed as innocuous: a board game. So, the updated sequel turned the tabletop experience into a console experience by creating the Jumaji video game. The third installment keeps this winning format with a few twists.

Check out the trailer to see who’s new, who’s returning, and what fans can hope to see in this new flick.

The new film, aptly titled Jumanji: The Next Level, carries the video game theme and pulls characters back in. We see the original four game avatars return with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. Their real world counterparts are all back as well, with some new additions in Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. The two Dannys will surely bring in additional humor as part of the Boomer generation that may be less familiar with the common tropes experienced gamers can recognize.

Jumanji: The Next Level premieres December 13.
