John Chen Speaks with Bloomberg About Safety of Autonomous Cars

Autonomous cars are the future, but how safe are they?

Autonomous cars are the next big thing that the transportation industry is pushing forward for, and John Chen the CEO of BlackBerry spoke with Bloomberg TV about it.

We had some recent accidents in test cars, including the Uber accident that resulted in a fatality. Today the safety of the autonomous car depends on the human driver that is sitting behind the steering wheel, monitoring what the car is doing. While some are calling for systems that depend on a human driver is aware, BlackBerry CEO John Chen thinks that if most accidents made by man, and we should make the safety of future autonomous cars not depend on human drivers.

Chen wrote a post on the official Inside BlackBerry about it  last month and spoke of his preferred safety standards and how he believes what direction this technology should take.
