HYUNDAI AUTRON ELECTS BLACKBERRY QNX FOR NEXT GENERATION AUTONOMOUS DRIVING

Hyundai Autron has chosen BlackBerry’s QNX technology as its next generation autonomous vehicle software platform! This announcement was made on 5 November by Hyundai Autron, a subsidiary of the Hyundai Motor Group.

Autron is a leading research and development company specializing in electronic regulatory software and semiconductors build for the automotive industry.  With this new agreement they will utilise BlackBerry QNX OS for Safety as its software solution for the future. QNX OS is an advanced and secure embedded operating system and is set to control Hyundai’s next-generation advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and their autonomous driving software platforms, which will be the building blocks for competitive motorised and mission critical arrangements. The subsequent software is projected to be commercialised by Hyundai Autron’s OEM customer base worldwide.
