Every year, we mention BlackBerry 10’s birthday. Today marks the date when RIM announced their new platform, BlackBerry 10 OS. It is a day that I, as BlackBerry fan, will never forget.
For me, the days before the announcement of BlackBerry 10 where exciting. BlackBerry Jam tour came to Tel Aviv after a long tour in North America and Europe, and the opportunity to get a glance at BlackBerry 10 was very appealing.
At Jam, I received the BlackBerry 10 Alpha device (my wife actually got it), and that was the gong to mark what we knew would be game changer. The feeling of the device was something unlike anything I recall from legacy devices, and the device itself showed particular growth in the keyboard and camera.
For the first time we experienced the new camera with Time Shift. The BlackBerry 10 camera has the ability to capture few moments before and after the actual picture was taken, and you could choose the facial expression with the best result.
As time went on, we saw BlackBerry 10 come to life and to the market; the Z10 was, and still is, one of the best smartphones I have ever used. It has a great size that fits my hand, the hardware, and of course the BB10 software.
BlackBerry World for BlackBerry 10 introduced us to the app store with the many apps available on release day, and every day we got new apps and more games to the platform. Every big player who joined BB10 was welcomed.
With this anniversary, BlackBerry 10 celebrates 4 years of security and efficiency. The platform is now mostly used by the government agencies and business enterprise, as they need to be the most secure.
I’m sure that in 6 years, we will have even more stories from 10 years of BlackBerry 10. This was mine.
