The Great App debate!
#1
Is BlackBerry lacking in apps?  Sure it would be nice if the social giants like facebook, snapchat and instagram developed an app for BlackBerry 10. It all comes down to perception. Shall we get started then.
We have BlackBerry awesome browser.
We have BlackBerry World.
We have the Amazon app store.
And finally we have the ability to side load Android apps.

I use minimal apps, mostly supplemental things. BlackBerry 10 offers me everything I need.

You don't even have to "side load". Just search for the app > click the link with Google playstore link > copy the link > paste it here http://downloader-apk.com. And download apk. > one click to install.

Veeru, you're saying that I search for the app in the Google Play Store website, copy the download link and then paste it into that downloader? That's great.

When it gets right down to it, the major apps are basically data vacuums as in your personal data. I'm not a huge fan of social media apps. There's only a couple I use and even those I use rarely anymore. I don't think there's anything I'm missing on my BlackBerry in order to get things done, outside of the corporate client management app, which is a Web-based program anyway.

I've given up social media and the so called "apps" thing. My Z30's browser alone can do all of my socialising needs. :-)

Just like right now here on UTB.

Just make a Google search in your browser (I prefer duckduckgo.com as defualt search)
For example "spotify Google playstore" > open the Google play link > copy link > paste link in the website I gave above > download apk

Simple :)
