To be honest I'm much prefer 13 episodes series. Anything beyond is just filler. This way, it forces the writers to put out a tighter script and tell the story that matter. Most shows came in with a simple concept and expand from there. Sometimes writers get carry away and let their creativity run wild and can't find their way back the focal point of the story and characters. Every frame of a scene or character that linger for a second longer should convey something to the audience not just because the director needs to make up a 40 minute episode in a neatly package for the network to bring in ad revenue.
