Facebook seems to be returning to a war with BlackBerry and is suing the Canadian company for patent infringement.
Reports are that Facebook has filed a lawsuit in a San Francisco court in which it claims that BlackBerry has infringement six patents for voice calls-messaging. According to the report, the infringement that Facebook filed the lawsuit is the ability of a mobile device to improve the graphics, sound and video it shows the user.
So far, BlackBerry has not responded to the lawsuit, but it is likely that we will soon hear the Canadian reaction. It is important to note that only a few months ago the BlackBerry filed a lawsuit against Facebook (and Snap) for infringement of patents in the field of immediate tax, and the trial is still underway.
Facebook may be trying to enter head to head with the BlackBerry and even create a situation in which the two companies will reach agreements outside the court. But of course it is very early in terms of ending the battles between the two companies.
Any way you look at it, it is getting very interesting.
