E3 2018 is bringing you the gaming news you didn’t realize you needed.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is a cultural phenomenon for geeks and gamers. Ten years ago being a “professional gamer” didn’t have much weight to the claim, but as esports leagues and competitive gaming gain mainstream traction, the demographic has exploded.
Gaming has become a legitimate way to earn an income, and E3 is the work conference you need to attend. E3 showcases the latest in new gaming titles, tech, and peripherals to make your video game adventures more enjoyable, and yes, profitable. Even casual gamers, that is those of us who can’t earn a living hacking and slashing through a mythical land, can find something of interest as the tradeshow will feature over 150 game titles, 200 exhibitors, and 3,250 products during the three-day event.
Gaming is definitely a culture for the 21st Century. Many of us grew up on classic consoles like Nintendo, Atari, and dare I add, ColecoVision. Many still had their skills honed on PCs, learning text-based, macro-fueled games that taught computer science while having fun. Now, the culture of gaming is about high definition graphics, A-list celebrity voice talents, and well-developed story lines that keep players wrapped up in the worlds they create.
E3 allows gamers to immerse themselves in their culture to learn more about the newest developments. It all starts tomorrow.
