DirecTV Now is Adding Some Nice Features, For a Price

Some nice things are free, but the really nice things carry a cost.

Satellite just never really got that win against cable. Technology moved along faster than that battle. Streaming is now mainstream, and DirecTV has been in the mix for a while. Now, they are adding some nice additions to their streaming service DirecTV Now. Some items will be basic to all users, but its not all free.

The first to come is a third stream. Users can now have two different streams active, allowing men to watch things explode while their better half catches up on that chick flick. But what about the kids? Well, if you don’t want them out playing in the street, you can pay an extra $5 a month to get a third concurrent stream.

Next up, a cloud based DVR called True Cloud DVR. Still in beta, user’s are now able to save up to 20 hours of programming and keep it for up to 30 days. Soon, users will be able to keep up to 100 hours of content for up to 90 days, for an additional $10 per month.

Travelers will especially appreciate the new ability to watch their local channels even when on the road. Strangely enough, DirecTV won’t charge users extra for this. For now anyway.

Are you a DirecTV Now user? Are these options you’ll appreciate? Are they options you’ll spend extra for?
