The BlackBerry Mobile KEYone is Heading Down Under

The KEYone arrives to arrive in Australia in July.

As North Americans scramble to get their hands on an already sold out BlackBerry Mobile KEYone, word comes out that the device will soon be arriving in Australia.

The Australian reports that the device will be going on sale in country starting in July. The device will carry a price tag of $899 AUD.

We do know of a few BlackBerry fans down under that weren’t ready to wait on the arrival and have already ordered (and received) the KEYone from Clove UK shipped to Australia for around $750 AUD. In any event, it’s nice to see another market open up for the newest BlackBerry Secure smartphone.

Finally some news for Aussie fans!!!

  • Alan

That is quite the price tag on the KEYone. Seriously ?

    • Steve

That’s nothing Alan, BBstore.com.au has it available now but with a price tag of $1098. Aussie markets tend to rip off the consumer.

      • Wayno

        Agreed!!!

      • Alan

Wow! I’m speechless. It’s just not right.

        • Steve

I know. Australia seems to be floating most tech companies simply through their licencing agreements.

        • Steve

I just noticed that the $1098 price tag is actually a ‘deal of the day’. They’re actually selling it for $1250.

          • Alan

Sad. The KEYone may be a good phone, but come ON! Only the rich can afford them at those prices. At least there is comfort in the knowledge the price will come down and not up. With some things one just has to be patient.

JB HiFi, one of the country’s largest retailers of audio and video, laptops, TV’s etc are reported to be selling in July

This isn’t the first time that a major Australian newspaper have posted the supposed Australian availability of a BlackBerry device only for it to be a no show. After what we’ve been through with this market, you’ll understand if I reserve my judgement for seeing an actual live device in my hands.

Also, Chris Griffin has been pounding the BlackBerry is dead nail for years, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a big ‘I told you so’ article follow-up mid-july.

In UAE I bought KEYone around 544 USD
