BlackBerry 10 UI Concepts!

Our reader Roger apparently still loves his BlackBerry 10. It was enough to get him to switch from an iPhone after 5 years. Well so do I Roger, and you’re not alone. So many have made the switch to BlackDroid but still miss some BlackBerry 10 features, many have switched back, many such as myself never left. If you’re not an app person, there’s still a lot to like about it.

Roger, a marketing specialist, has submitted some well thought out enhancements to the BlackBerry 10 Hub. It was the Hub that originally convinced him to go BlackBerry.

But first, the lock screen concept:

Personally, I don’t like a lot of information showing when my phone is locked for privacy reasons, but this concept appears to be more informative than the stock screen:

Here is Roger’s concept for Instant preview, with an option to reply and subsequent previews cascaded.

Here is the Instant preview in another app with reply option:

And here is the Hub. This treatment allows you to expand each item to offer more detail or options, such as Instant Reply, share, delete, preview, which would allow you to live longer in the hub, which after all should be the center of all activity.

Notable is the dark theme.

And this is what it looks like with the read notifications greyed (left side bar)

Thanks Roger, for helping to keep BlackBerry 10 alive! And of course for reading UTB.

Let us know what you think of these concepts in the comments below.

I am a long time BlackBerry user and fan. Beginning with the 7520, I have recognized the value of subtle productivity enhancements in BlackBerry devices for business communication and have never since strayed. Even when the iPhone took the market by storm, I was unimpressed, because it did nothing to help my business needs. Currently enjoying my one handed dream phone, the Classic! BB10 with a toolbelt! Today I contribute to UTB whenever I feel that I can help enlighten someone on the benefits of using BlackBerry over any other platform.
