Bill and Ted are coming back to the big screen. Yes… we’re serious.
Alex Winter tweeted today teasing the news that Bill and Ted 3 is happening and social media has been buzzing ever since. Here’s what we know so far:
- The original Ted “Theodore” Logan (Keanu Reeves) and Bill S. Preston, Esq., (Alex Winter) are reprising their roles for the flick.
- Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is slated to direct.
- The screenplay has been penned by the original writing duo Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.
- The current title is Bill and Ted Face the Music and will be centered around a prophecy given to the pair at the end of the original film.
Bill and Ted began their Excellent Adventure in 1989. In the film, two teen metalheads stumble upon a most excellent series of events while finishing their homework to keep Bill out of military school. Given the use of a phone booth time machine by a traveler from the future, they seek out key historical figures to finish their school assignment. The traveler tells them that the music they create help build a foundation for the utopia he came from. This new flick takes that prophecy and expounds on what the insight from the future could do to the present.
Bill and Ted Face the Music is still in pre-production and a release date has not been set.
Be excellent to each other.
