Amazing Looking BlackBerry Accessory Renderings Leaked

Leaker Evan Blass has tweeted out drawings for a mystery accessory.

Notorious leaker Evan Blass tweeted out drawings of a mystery BlackBerry accessory. Blass claims that the accessory is from Optiemus, BlackBerry’s licensing partner from India. The question is, what is it?

The consensus seems to be that it is a wireless charger. Designed as the BlackBerry Shield logo, it certainly fits the bill to be a wireless charger. With a single USB Type-C port at the top of the shield, and what appears to be pads on the back, it would sit perfectly on a desk, facing the user, and provide a place to sit your phone and charge.

Unfortunately, we have not seen wireless charging on a BlackBerry device since the BlackBerry Priv. There have been recent leaks of possible upcoming devices from Optiemus, and seeing this accessory leads me to think they will probably include wireless charging.

Let’s hope that this design is shared with other licensing partners. It looks amazing. Even without wireless charging, I’d love to have this device sitting on my desk.
