Deadpool trailers are jokes in themselves.
Movie trailers are all the same. Clips of the movie spliced together by someone other than the creators of the movie to tell a short story that will get people in to see the movie. Sometimes, the trailers are even better than the movies. 20th Century Fox takes a different route altogether, creating original content which we won’t be seeing in the movie. This latest Deadpool 2 trailer does this well, even as it focuses on introducing Cable.
Portrayed by Josh Brolin, the mutant from the future looks to be as serious as Deadpool is not. In the midst of his serious monologue, we’re treated to a voice-over from Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson himself, making fun of a certain special effect used in the Justice League movie. Nothing is sacred when it comes to Deadpool.
Oh, and then he plays with Deadpool and Cable toys.
If this isn’t odd enough, the blurb for the video is about as random as possible.
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Deadpool 2 hit’s theaters May 18.
