Welcome to the future of BlackBerry according to Ray. This is strictly my opinion on where I see the company heading.
Over the last couple of days, we have seen many announcements and positive news regarding this iconic company and brand. New devices (Z3 and Q10), BES 12, and enterprise BBM have all been announced. All of this coupled with a CEO who has a vision, focus and plan make for a bright future for BlackBerry. Not only is BlackBerry here to stay, but they will once again grow and profit.
As far as Joe consumer goes, I don’t know what the future holds. As I was up late yesterday evening following a live podcast of John Chen press conference, I came to a realization. At one point during the Q&A session, John Chen was asked about flagship devices. He responded by stating that there are a couple of devices being worked on that he could not discuss. Hearing that gave me that same feeling as the 1st day I picked up a BlackBerry 10 device. That’s right, I was a kid on Christmas morning. Then came the follow up statement where Chen stated that they need to continue and make high end flagship devices to serve the enterprise market. This comment concerned me as a consumer. It’s a selfish reason to be concerned as I truly want the company to succeed but I also want access to high end devices. Does this mean that we as average consumers wouldn’t have access to these devices? Are they for enterprise only? What’s the deal? Nobody at this press conference felt the need to ask these follow up questions. These so called BlackBerry fan sites and tech blogs didn’t think that was important to ask I suppose. I felt differently and look forward to the day I can attend representing UTB so we can ensure our readers get all the information because like you, we live, eat and breath BlackBerry.
So what does the future hold? The future is bright with endless possibilities. BlackBerry is BACK and the rest should take notice.
