TCL Tweets new news forthcoming about BlackBerry KEYone

BlackBerry fans and potential BlackBerry KEYone owners, rejoice! New news regarding the BlackBerry KEYone will be forthcoming, as soon as next week!

TCL Communications President and GM of their North American branch, Steve Cistulli, dropped a Tweet earlier saying:

We’re not exactly sure what Steve and TCL will have to say next week, but we sure are excited about it! As a reminder, the BlackBerry KEYone has a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 1620×1080, and a PPI of 434. It has a 64 bit SD 625 SoC, with 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of ROM that’s expandable via microSD cardslot, up to 2 terabytes. It has a 12MP back camera that has an IMX378 sensor, which is the same camera sensor used by the Google Pixel/Pixel XL. It has a front facing 8MP camera, a 3505 mAh battery, and will ship with Android 7.1 Nougat. Best of all, it has a fixed, touch enabled physical keyboard that has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the space bar.

If you look closely in the photo that accompanies the tweet it shows the 27th April. Will that be the day they’ll announce the news or come Monday they’ll announce a global launch with selfridges getting in first with the 27th.

Either way, the UK is getting more news than what I’m getting here..

I’m not what they will be announcing. No one is, except for those closest to the information regarding the KEYone launch. It’s best not speculate, and wait to here it from the proverbial horses mouth. That way, there won’t be any misinformation floating about.

That ain’t fun now is it?

It’s not about mis-information but by piecing together bits of information either from previous teasers, announcements, third party dealers and news outlets and blogs such as this.

This is totally different to the ranting and whining seen elsewhere.

          What’s not fun? Not knowing?

I’m not saying it is misinformation. I’m saying that it’s always best to wait for official confirmation so that there isn’t any misinformation put out there.

I’m not so much interested in the KEYone, although it appears an awesome phone in its own right and that is very cool. What I am interested in mostly is its availability when it does become available. The availability factor will be hugely important to sales. I’m sure TCL is aware of this, and that is at least partly why the initial delay. Being a BlackBerry fan, I look forward to how well TCL will manage to pull this off.

I’m totally interested in the KEYone, but I certainly get your point about availability, and I also believe it’s because TCL wants supply to match demand.

As always, thanks for reading, Alan!
