MindLink Announces Strategic Reseller Agreement With BlackBerry

MindLink  announces its global reseller agreement with BlackBerry.  According to MindLink,

MindLink provides integrated Enterprise Chat with emphasis on “Business Critical Collaboration“ principles.

It’s the online collaboration tool that helps teams to coordinate and exchange information real-time across the business, while delivering measurable business results.

Built specifically for Microsoft Lync, MindLink is a fully mobile, deeply integrated, secure and compliant Persistent Chat solution that will transform how your teams collaborate.

Admittedly, my first thoughts when reading the press release were that this sounds like direct competition to the eBBM suite of services; however,  Peter Ng, Senior Director of Global Alliances and Business Development at BlackBerry, puts this agreement in perspective by noting that “Our partnership with MindLink reinforces our commitment to enterprise customers by delivering secure technology that enables a more productive workforce,”…”MindLink’s group chat app adds to our strong mix of enterprise-focused apps for BlackBerry 10 available through BlackBerry World.”

The tie in with BES10 and Secure Work Space for iOS and Android further emphasizes the point that BlackBerry is offering secure enterprise mobility solutions; just like with BES10, if an enterprise chooses to deploy iOS, and Android based devices (Windows Phone support will be included with BES12 to be released in November), BlackBerry can still provide a secure solution.  Partnerships of this nature allow BlackBerry to maintain and grow its strong foothold in enterprises by providing cross platform and multi product based secure enterprise mobility solutions to meet the growing trend of BYOD in the workplace.

MindLink Announces Strategic Reseller Agreement With BlackBerry

LONDON, October 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ —

MindLink, developer of secure, integrated Enterprise Group Chat applications built for Microsoft™ Lync, is proud to announce its global reseller agreement with BlackBerry. Starting today, MindLink joins the BlackBerry Enterprise ISV Reseller Program, which enables the company’s group chat app to be distributed internationally by BlackBerry sales teams.

The demand for secure enterprise chat apps continues to rise with the growing Bring Your Own Device and Choose Your Own Device trends. Corporations are seeking out and implementing technology which meets business critical requirements as well as the communication needs of modern day professionals.

The agreement marks a significant step in the lifecycle of MindLink, which was formed only three years ago, but already has 125,000 users within major financial institutions and government organisations. The application, available across all BlackBerry® smartphones, as well as iOS and Android™ devices through Secure Work Space managed by BlackBerry® Enterprise Service 10 (BES10), complements BlackBerry’s portfolio of secure, end-to-end mobility solutions for enterprises.

Designed specifically with businesses in mind, MindLink’s group chat application meets strict security and compliance requirements, meeting the needs of BlackBerry customers in industries such as government, finance and healthcare.

“This agreement signifies an important step in MindLink’s aim to mobilize Microsoft Lync™ and become one of the world’s leading enterprise chat app providers,” said Joseph Do, CEO of MindLink. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the business to continue to grow its user base, and we are delighted to be part of BlackBerry’s Enterprise ISV Reseller Program, which we believe will provide us with the platform to stand out from our competitors.”

“Our partnership with MindLink reinforces our commitment to enterprise customers by delivering secure technology that enables a more productive workforce,” said Peter Ng, Senior Director of Global Alliances and Business Development at BlackBerry. “MindLink’s group chat app adds to our strong mix of enterprise-focused apps for BlackBerry 10 available through BlackBerry World.”

Nice. Inch by inch BlackBerry is carving out their territory in Enterprise while the other platforms eat each other for “market share” in the overcrowded consumer sphere.

    Keep moving, BlackBerry!

Is MindLink only a group chat app?

I believe it is an add on to the MS Lync enterprise desktop instant messaging app. I use MS Lync at work and it is connected to the company directory.
