I need some new ideas for my show.

I'm not getting subscriptions notifications. I have default thread subscription mode set to instant email notification. I'm not changing anything when I post. I have also subscribed to several forums and I don't get anything on that either.

I have checked spam folder. I have double-checked forums settings in control panel. I can't find anything I'm doing wrong.

Are subscription notifications working, or turned off, or is it me somehow and I haven't figured it out?

  Christmas Wishes
Posted by: Wayno - 24-12-2016, 04:37 PM - Forum: Site Talk - Replies (12)

To all of our highly valued readers, friends and UTB staff,
2016 has been a great year for UTB. We have had some fantastic guests recently in Marty Beard and Matthew Talbot, and we hope to have more on next year. We have seen some great results from BlackBerry and a couple of new devices released.
We have had a lot of fun doing the weekly blogcasts, bringing you all the latest news in the world of BlackBerry and look forward to doing it all again next year.
To all my fellow UTB staff, it has been a pleasure working alongside all of you. I think we have done a great job and we will continue to do that and grow the site even bigger and better next year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year. See you all in 2017!!
Cheers Guys n Gals

Integration of comments into the BB10 app
Posted by: A1MX - 03-08-2016, 02:51 PM - Forum: Site Talk - Replies (22)

First time poster on the forums but have been checking this app daily for about two years. UTB is full of great content and is easily the best source for BB10 news. But I have noticed that many articles come and go with no comments. I can say without a doubt that this is due to the unfortunate fact that you cannot post comments without logging into a Web browser. I've been tempted to comment many many times but have always been put off by the general sluggishness of going through the browser to do so.

Is it too much to ask to integrate the comments into the BB10 app itself. I assure you that more discussion would occur if you could make this happen.

Thank you.

  Moderation Regulation
Posted by: m3mb3rsh1p - 27-07-2016, 03:53 PM - Forum: Site Talk - Replies (23)

I'd just like to say that I think it's nice to have a system that keeps an active community in check when things get exciting.

I'm happy for be corrected, edited, even censored if I make a mistake. Anonymous, summary, unexplained erasure, on the other hand, is not an acceptable way to handle discourse.

It would be informative to post a comment explaining that there have been some unacceptable trends in a thread or that you'd prefer not to hear about a particular angle or slant to a topic.

When you delete, delete, delete without explanation, it contradicts the welcoming atmosphere that was supposed to be different from "the other sites." Even an automated PM would be fine.

I don't feel unfairly targeted and I'd rather have a comment I made removed than cause undue offence. It just feels odd to see a forum marked as active 24 minutes ago and then discover the last comment is from 9 hours ago, meaning I'm probably not the only one who got sent to the naughty corner... and left to guess what I did wrong because the mods aren't talking. :(

Please moderate like we're all just trying to get along, enjoying our BlackBerry devices in each our own way. Maybe you could post a policy on how you'll be handling disreputable behaviour?
