A Bit Of Balance – Apple Guy Joins UTB!

apple guy

Hey peeps!

I thought I’d join the team here as I see a lot of negative articles about Apple on UTB and wanted to bring some balance to the site.

I’m AppleGuy and I want to share with you the great things that Apple does.

I think that we all accept that BlackBerry’s presence in the tablet market is non-existant. The PlayBook was a good effort but didn’t really deliver. I mean, it didn’t even get BlackBerry 10! So iPad is pretty much the go-to tablet when it comes to business.

You might not like it BlackBerry fans, but there it is. So here’s an example of how the iPad is an awesome business tool.

Today I was using a website that is work-releated. Now iPads are great for work because we have iWork and even Microsoft have chimed in with a crippled fantastic version of Microsoft Office.

So I’m working away on my document and need to upload it. Guess what? The browse button on the website doesn’t work. So I called the technical department to tell them that, thanks to my productivity tool (the iPad), I’ve spotted a problem with their website that won’t let me upload the file.

They told me that it’s because iOS and Safari doesn’t have a file picker that lets you navigate to find a file.

Now, I know what you’re thinking – that this is a shortcoming of the iPad. But it’s not. What I’ve done is not only worked on a spreadsheet (albeit slowly because I can’t use a mouse on an iPad) – but also discovered that a website is incompatible with the iPad too. I’ve let the developers know so that they can redesign their website (or even better – create an app for that) so that I can find a way to share this file I want to give them.

If you think that this is wrong then you might want to check out Michal Morgan on the Apple forum – he agrees with me. Redesigning a website is the short-term solution!

So there you have it. I’ve done my work, found problems for others to fix. If that’s not being productive, then I don’t know what is.

There’s nothing left for me to do. Well, except for me to upload my spreadsheet which is what I wanted to do in the first place – but I guess that can wait until Apple fixes it. It’s only been 6 years so I guess it will be fixed any day now…

This reeks of Biggly all over! :p

    • Bigglybobblyboo

Yes. 2020 will be the year. It’s worth sticking with Apple just to enjoy the moment they leave the archaic behind. On your Pension Day, perhaps.

    • Bigglybobblyboo

      Not me!

  • rzanger

    Lol

All you have to do is contact your nearest Hacker. They will have–or can get–your spreadsheet for you and post it on a handy Web site. Oh but then you would not be able to save it from the site because Apple has not figured out how to add one of the open-source file systems to the iOS app launcher. Hmmm. Well I could get it on my Surface Pro 3 for you and attach it to an email on my Passport using Blend then email it to you.

Stick a few naked selfies and leave it on icloud. It will be posted everywhere soon enough.

    Brilliant LOL =)) =))

So in a nutshell, the “dead and gone” Playbook can do stuff the 6th (?) generation iPad cant? Just like the iPhones still can’t do stuff OS5 BlackBerry’s cant.

Hahahahaha! This is productivity hilarity!! Great blog. Looking forward to more “balanced” articles.

  • Reverend Grim

LMFAO! This, Brother BigglyBobblyboo is why you are the living legend in the United Temple of BlackBerry!
Bravo for finding a sheeple for us to bash… I mean listen too and get a new balance of things, bravo Brother, Bravo!

You missed one detail, the BlackBerry logo on Jony’s t-shirt locco_smiley_20

  • razrrob

It appears Jony needs a laxative.

  • nnik

    Lmao! You putz!

  • bartron

LMAO. Awesome. I knew the iPad was ridiculously restricted, but I didn’t know it was that bad.

I’ve been a Windows hater since 1994, but I’ll totally admit that once Microsoft takes care of the few issue the Surface Pro has, the Surface Pro will really take off. It’s a one product solution that replaces the laptop and desktop, it has a productive UI and lots of features missing from the iPad. I was very surprised, and impressed, when I tried it.

Lmao don’t read this article in in bed right after waking up. I had to do a reality check on my self lmao ! I’m saying to myself what the f have they done to my favorite site only to realize it’s the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen here.
