Is This The 10.3.3 Update We’ve Been Waiting For?

A website has presented a changelog for the BB10.3.3 update. Is it real?

Tun-Tech has posted what it claims is upcoming in the 10.3.3 update. If true, then it is much more than a security update. I’ve copied the “change log” below.

The question is, is it real? I hope so. If it is, it looks like the update we’ve all been wanting. But I’m not getting too excited about it. To me, this appears to be a possible planned update, but I don’t think it’s what we shall see. Perhaps this was a roadmap for an update that was placed on hold? Or perhaps even a wish list of updates? In all honesty, I have no idea.

There is one glaring item which leads me to believe we will not see this update, at least in 10.3.3. That is support for third party apps in Blend. As we already know that Blend is no longer being supported.

See the change log yourself below, but take it with a grain of salt. Will we see it? I doubt it. But I hope so.

Gee whiz this could be a truly amazing update if true! But, Tunisian press were first to get the news? And after all the BlackBerry pressure over the last week I’m surprised that, if it were true, BlackBerry wouldn’t have used their own blog to alert users to at least some of these improvements/upgrades.

    • Brad

Agree Madge. I assume this is being presented as a leak, but it doesn’t look right at all. But folks are talking about it, so figured we’d share.

      • Madge

I’m very pleased you did share Brad, because at least this way I can keep abreast of some of the BlackBerry stuff; and in this case practice a bit of wishful thinking, lol….

  • Anthony

WOW, locco_smiley_7 , that would be a great update. A total surprise.

  • Madge

Just curious, where did the ‘info’ come from that this bb10 update was only about ‘security’ (whatever that might mean)?

    • Brad

Blackberry have said several times that these two updates would be security focused updates for NIAP certification.

We’ve been told not to expect new features. Some hope there will be some included. Others have called it nothing more than a patch. (It’s not a patch, those are the Fudders)

We won’t know for sure what it is until it gets on our phones.

I truly believe 10.3.3 will be more than just a security update. The one thing John Chen has proven is that he keeps his word and puts his best foot forward.

Once BlackBerry stated that they were committed to BB10, it was pretty much guaranteed that they would put a little more effort than they had planned when they were pushing Android. BlackBerry doesn’t settle, as proven by their almost frustrating desire to innovate as the media remains catatonic.

The good thing about investing in BB10 is that they will keep their enterprise clients and fans such as ourselves.

FUD doesn’t work on me. BlackBerry will always be Fantastic Upstanding Dauntless.

Thanks Brad the good in this news it indicates the level of potential and capabilities which BB10 has especially in productivity

  • deltact

Yeah, more of a wishlist, but thanks for sharing. At least it can provide some ideas for future updates if BlackBerry decides to add more later. As satisfied as I am with BB10, it would be nice for some of the new Hub features on Android to make their way over.
